Pucon Walking city tour - Nature & history in the city

Pucón

Pucon is a town on the shores of Lake Villarrica and on the slopes of a huge 2847 meters active volcano. Its style, order and beauty, resembles a Swiss landscape, so many people remember it that way.
Thanks to the small size of the town, we can visit it on foot and know its main tourist attractions in an easy way. Its history is largely related to the volcano and its eruptions, the last of them in 2015.
Capital of outdoor tourism in Chile and Latin America, Pucon offers all kinds of activities in nature. Join me!

What will we do

Join me in this historical city tour around the city and let’s go together through the most attractive and iconic places of Pucon.

We will start our tour at the Plaza de Armas, where I will tell you the most unknown details of the founding of Pucon in 1883 and its close relationship with the founding, destruction and refoundation of the city of Villarrica. We will visit the Playa Grande beach, on the shore of Lake Villarrica, La Poza, the Santa Clara Monastery, the center of the city and along the way I will be telling you the history of the city and how the colonization and arrival of families from all over the world to a territory so well protected by the Mapuches took place. I will also explain about the evolution of the city as a tourist spot, its relationship of creation and destruction with the Villarrica Volcano, through multiple eruptions, and I will tell you details of the history that only the locals know. We will visit a wetland inside the city, where besides relaxing, we will be able to greet the ducks, geese and taguas that will surely dance and sing for us.
To finish the tour, we will visit the wooden flowers where you can take home a unique souvenir of Pucón.
