Welcome to My World

Hello, and thank you for being here.

What started as a simple idea, without ever feeling like a “project,” has slowly taken shape and grown naturally over the years, becoming something deeply personal and meaningful to me.

The story of Patrick Foto Tirol began in Innsbruck, Tirol, Austria, in March 2020. I had set off on a long-awaited adventure to this breathtaking part of Europe, filled with excitement and dreams. But just three days after I arrived, the world changed in ways none of us could have imagined. Borders closed, cities locked down, and all my carefully laid plans were swept away by the Coronavirus pandemic.

I will never forget Saturday, March 14, 2020. I was out buying supplies for my adventure when a saleswoman, speaking in a mix of German and English (“Deutschglish”), told me that the government had announced the immediate closure of borders and a complete lockdown. By the next day, only pharmacies and supermarkets would remain open.

The world seemed to stop. We all know what followed. Even now, as I write these words, it feels like part of that story is still unfolding.

For the next three months, I found myself in Austria—completely alone. My only conversations were brief, rushed “Danke” exchanges at the supermarket or with bus drivers. Masks muffled my words and made German feel even more foreign to me.

And yet, what could have been a time of isolation and hardship became one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life.

Those three months in Innsbruck were magical. The Tyrolean Alps, usually bustling with tourists, felt like my private sanctuary. I walked, biked, and took buses and trains, exploring countless cities and villages across Tirol. Each day, I discovered something new—about the world around me and about myself. I reconnected with life in a way I hadn’t known before, appreciating its beauty from a deeply personal and emotional perspective.

When I returned to Pucon, Chile, my love for photography and videography continued to grow. And in March 2024, I embarked on a new chapter, crossing the ocean once again—this time to settle in beautiful Bretagne, France.

Now, almost five years since that unforgettable time in Innsbruck, and after one year living in France, I still don’t know exactly what the future holds. But I’ve learned to trust the journey. Everything happens for a reason, and there’s nothing more fulfilling than following your dreams with an open heart.

I invite you to be part of this ongoing adventure. Let’s explore the beauty of the world together—through my social media and especially on my YouTube channel, where I share the stories and wonders I’ve captured along the way.

With gratitude,
Patrick
