Pucón
Pucon is a city on the shores of Lake Villarrica and on the slopes of a huge active volcano. Its style, order and beauty, resembles some Swiss landscapes, so many people remember it that way.
Thanks to the small size of the city, we can visit it on foot and visit its main tourist attractions in a close way. Its history is largely related to the volcano and its eruptions, the last of them in March 2015.
Capital of outdoor tourism in Chile and Latin America, Pucon offers all kinds of activities in nature.
What will be do
We will visit one of the most beautiful and well maintained private parks in Pucon, Turbio River waterfalls.
We will leave by car from the Pucon’s main square and we will drive for about 20 minutes in direction to the slopes of the Villarrica volcano.
The volcano, with a height of 2,847 meters above sea level, is an active volcano that permanently expels smoke and steam. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, with its last eruption in 2015.
Upon arrival, we will enjoy a coffee and cookies, we will introduce ourselves and I will be giving safety instructions and good practices, where I will emphasize the care of the place we visit.
The route has an extension of approximately 12 km round trip and we will walk along the banks of the Turbio River through a wide valley, where we can observe the result of thousands of years of constant volcanic activity, which today we admire for its beauty and diversity of landscapes. We will see numerous waterfalls and rock formations carved by water, which have formed beautiful waterfalls and waterfalls of different sizes.
We will cross sectors of volcanic slag heaps, forests of coihue and native hazelnut trees among others, where we will be able to observe and listen to the birds of the place.
If the weather permits, you can swim in one of the many natural pools that exist.
